Kolonics Pince Juhfark 2023 (Somló)
The wine's distinctive character: The oldest and most characteristic variety of Somló hill from Károly Kolonics' traditional workshop.
Aroma and flavor profile: Deep golden yellow color. The nose is dominated by ripe quince, apricot, dried herbs and the smoky, flint-like minerality so characteristic of Somló. On the palate, assertive body, tense and vibrant acidity, oily texture and a long, salty finish.
Serving suggestion: Best served at 11–13°C alongside smoked fish, rich sauced poultry, mushroom risotto or aged, salty hard cheeses.
Mood: An excellent foundation for contemplative evening tastings and conversations by the fireplace – a true treasure for lovers of volcanic wines.
Nyári Pince Kéknyelű 2024 (Badacsony / Szent György-hegy)
The wine's distinctive character: A curiosity from the volcanic Szent György hill, once considered the "wine of the wealthy" due to its uncertain yields and lower productivity. Today it is cultivated on barely 50 hectares in Hungary.
Aroma and flavor profile: Volcanic flint smokiness, steely acidity, a hint of salt. Into the volcanic excitement blends a touch of white-fleshed, honeyed peach, quince tartness, nuanced with green herbs for pleasant complexity.
Serving suggestion: Shows its finest face at 10–12°C, excellent alongside Lake Balaton grilled pike-perch fillet or butter-sauced trout, but also pairs beautifully with asparagus dishes or fresh goat cheese.
Mood: And what does the wine show in the glass? The triumph of spontaneity – when you provide the foundation, nature takes control to fulfill its mission. And in that moment, you realize this is exactly as it should be.
Fekete Pince Somlói Furmint 2021 (Somló)
The wine's distinctive character: A traditional selection from the southern slopes of Somló, preserving the spiritual legacy of the legendary "Fekete Béla bácsi." The basalt volcano's extreme minerality and the Somlói Furmint's robust structure create a slowly evolving, dignified great wine.
Aroma and flavor profile: Deep golden yellow appearance. The nose brings together ripe apple, apricot, quince, dried herbs and Somló's characteristic smoky, flint and fire-stone notes. On the palate, full, oily texture, pronounced acid backbone and an infinitely long, salty finish.
Serving suggestion: Recommended consumption at 11–13°C, alongside smoked fish, rich sauced poultry, roasted Mangalitsa pork, mushroom dishes or aged hard cheeses.
Mood: An excellent companion to winter evenings by the fireplace, but equally well-suited to providing the foundation for a more substantial conversation.
Centurio Pince Első Fejtés 2025 (Mátra)
The wine's distinctive character: Balázs Ludányi's true joy wine from his artisanal workshop in Gyöngyöstarján. Not a conventional red wine, but a vibrant, fruity, easily understood popular selection that showcases the cooler, elegant side of Mátra and the refreshing energy of volcanic soil.
Aroma and flavor profile: Gleaming, translucent ruby red color. The nose offers an explosion of fresh red berries – raspberry, juicy sour cherry, redcurrant – with a hint of cool, peppery minerality. On the palate, incredibly flavorful, vibrant and crisp, with finely polished acidity, silky tannins and pure fruity finish.
Serving suggestion: Recommended consumption at 13–15°C (in summer even cooler works excellently as a "refresher"), pairs beautifully with spiced roasted duck breast, homemade tomato pasta, artisanal charcuterie or lighter grilled dishes.
Mood: An excellent companion to liberated social gatherings and casual moments among friends. Introduce this wine to your gathering and success is guaranteed.
